"If Café Amelie is well-known, then Commander’s Palace is downright famous. One of the most storied locations in New Orleans history—the landmarked Victorian mansion, built in the late 1800s, has been in the Brennan family since 1974. It’s hard to go wrong when it comes to mealtimes—we particularly like lunch, when you can order one (or three) 25-cent martinis—but when it comes to romance, dinner is the way to go."

"If you’re anything like me, your Saturday evening will have ended up on Frenchmen Street…which paves the way nicely for another of New Orleans’ best food traditions: having Sunday Brunch the morning after the night before. The queues outside The Ruby Slipper Café had already put me onto the scent that this might be a good brunch place and after a bit of research, my suspicion was confirmed – this relaxed diner-style place was, indeed, award winning. "Though it's sometimes thought of as "that other beignet place," Cafe Beignet, with two French Quarter locations, actually offers an excellent menu of breakfast items, sandwiches, and New Orleans specialties like gumbo and jambalaya. And the beignets aren't bad, either!. Everything on the menu is usually under $10, and though the line to order at the counter can be long, it moves very quickly and is worth the wait.​"

"While tourists go to Cafe du Monde, locals come to Cafe Beignet to scratch that itch nothing but fried dough can cure. It won the People's Choice Award for best traditional beignet in 2017. There are four locations throughout New Orleans with a fifth on the way, but no matter which location you patronize, an order of beignets is less than five bucks."
